This\u00a0reveals that despite having to travel for up to an hour to reach a signal, 70 of 135 children at a boarding school in the area spend K50 (US$9) a month each on airtime.<\/li>\n<li>CA\u00a0<a title=\"Connect Africa Survey Report\" href=\"http:\/\/www.connectafrica.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/CONNECT-AFRICA-SURVEY-REPORT-South-Africa-June-2007.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">conducted a\u00a0survey report<\/a>\u00a0among men and women in seven rural areas in South Africa\u2019s Limpolo Province. They indicate top telecommunication priorities include accessing telephones, buying airtime and topping up the electricity meter.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.connectafrica.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/Zambia-Report_Final_ABF-August_20091.pdf\">Pilot tests done by CA<\/a> to manage and monitor six community pay phones connecting six deep rural communities in Zambia\u2019s Central Province demonstrate clear demand for more telecommunication products.<\/li>\n<li>CA research shows that provided a strategy which emphasises market orientation, sustainability and entrepreneurship is in place, innovative business models make rural technology solutions viable.
